Here’s an essential oil blend which I enjoy using just before bedtime. It brings on calm and relaxation and prepares me for a restful sleep.

Peace & Calming is a blend of Ylang-ylang, Blue Tansy, Tangerine, Orange and Patchouli. It’s a soft, gentle fragrance which helps me relax especially before I go to bed.

It can be diffused, worn as a perfume or massaged onto specific parts of the body.

This essential oil blend helps calm young children too. Massage on the bottoms of your feet or your children’s feet for a good night’s rest.

The essential oils in this blend have been known to help with depression, anxiety, stress, and insomnia. You may also use this blend with lavender essential oil or chamomile essential oil.

Blue Tansy (Tanacetum annuum) may help cleanse the liver and calm the lymphatic system. Inhaling Blue Tansy helps with anger and negative emotions. It contains sesquiterpenes that can stimulate the pineal gland, which secretes the hormone melatonin, a hormone that enhances deep sleep.

Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) is an earthy fragrance from the leaves of the Pogostemon cablin plant and highly prized and traded in ancient India. Its fragrance restores equilibrium, stills emotion and energizes the mind.

Tangerine (Citrus nobilis) contains esters and aldehydes that are sedating and calming, helping with anxiety and nervousness.

Orange (Citrus aurantium) is believed to bring joy, peace, and happiness to elevate the mind and body.

Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata) encourages relaxation and may help balance male and female energies. It is balancing while inspiring confidence and self-love.
